No plug, no electrical wiring, no problem. Faux lighting fix.
Gotta love a project that requires very little skill, money and time but produces big results. Two things led me to this super easy project- 1) I am always looking for ways to add that extra little something to decor in my home and 2) I needed to add some much needed light to a few dark spaces.
I fell in love with how pretty wall sconces were - positioned just right above prints or in the perfect corner of a room. Perfect solution! However, the places I wanted to hang them had no outlets nearby and I didn't want to spend the time or money to have them hard wired.
Necessity truly is the mother of invention. Where there's a will there's a way. Hell hath no fury like a woman on a mission...or something like that....
After scouring Pinterest for the faux lighting how-to's, I ordered my sconces and got to work.
I bought this set of wall sconces from Amazon. The price is super reasonable, they came in a set of 2 and fit in perfectly with my farmhouse style.
It really doesn't matter if they are meant to be plugged in or hard wired or both because you won't have to do any of those things!
You will need:
First cut and attach your velcro so that it fits over the space where you would normally screw in your bulb. Next, attach the adjoining piece of velcro to the back of your puck light. Press the two together. That's it. THAT IS IT! Hang your sconce and let there be light!
Difficulty level: Easy
Time Investment: Approx 30 min - hour
Cost: *depends on the sconces and the puck lights you choose. I got this pair for $40 and the remote control puck lights (qty 6) for $35.
